With Loic Remy and Diego Costa already dealing with injuries, it was worrisome news that the club's last established striker was injured as well. On Tuesday, The Independent had an update on Didier Drogba's fitness:
Drogba was at Cobham, the club’s training ground, this afternoon, where the senior squad has an afternoon session, and the club are hopeful that he can make a full recovery to be in contention for the game against Arsenal at the Emirates.
Given that Loic Remy was 50/50 this past Saturday, it seems likely that the Frenchman will be fit enough to play a role when Chelsea head to The Emirates on Sunday. Still, it would be comforting if the legendary Arsenal-killer was fit as well, as multiple proven options are always preferable to one (or none).
If healthy, Remy would seem the better starting option, as Arsenal's high line combined with their need to take three points should play to his strengths very well. If not, though, I'm sure Drogba will still make Arsene Wenger and most of the fanbase uncomfortable.
