Hazard, Costa, Courtois nominated for PFA end of season awards

These are entirely unsurprising but no less welcome.

Eden Hazard, best player in the Premier League, and Diego Costa, the Premier League's current joint-top goalscorer with 19 (and, unlike Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane, Costa hasn't taken a single penalty kick) have both been nominated for the PFA Players' Player of the Year award.  Thibaut Courtois, one of the best goalkeepers in the world, has been nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

Thanks to the PFA's silly, age-based rules, quite a few players are eligible for both the senior and the junior awards, including Hazard himself.

Here's the full list of nominees:

PFA Players' Player of the Year: Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, Philippe Coutinho, David De Gea, Alexis Sanchez, Diego Costa

PFA Young Player of the Year: Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, Philippe Coutinho, David De Gea, Thibaut Courtois, Raheem Sterling

Congrats to all, and may all the Chelsea players win!

Which, we should point out, doesn't happen very often, surprisingly.  The last and only Chelsea player to ever win this award is John Terry, back in 2004-05.  Hazard did win the young player award last year, making him the second Chelsea player ever to win.  Scott Parker was the first, in 2003-04, though he spent the first half of the season at Charlton Athletic.
