It's just the worst timing. The worst. With Diego Costa sidelined for at least two weeks, but possibly more, it looked like today was the start of an extended run for Loïc Rémy as first-choice striker. Mourinho had built him up publicly and even dangled the carrot of keeping the starting job should he do well even after Diego's return.
Alas...
Loic Remy is out with a muscular injury picked up in training yesterday. #CFC

The rumors started about thirty minutes before the lineups were announced. After confirmation came the details, and although they all agree that it's "minor" and "not serious," it's obviously serious and non-minor enough to cause Rémy to miss at least this one game.
Remy sidelined with a minor calf injury. Not serious, apparently.

We'll probably know more after the game about the injury and prognosis. Hopefully it is indeed just something minor and we can have Rémy back for the upcoming games against Manchester United (next weekend) and Arsenal (the weekend after that).
Until then, it's Didier's show. Chelsea have flown 18-year-old Izzy Brown back from Switzerland as cover. He had been taking part in the U19's UEFA Youth League semifinal (Friday) and was set to play in the final as well (Monday).
