Details are sketchy understandably right now, but it sounds as though Chelsea loanee Wallace (currently at Vitesse) has gotten himself in some trouble. The 20-year-old was apparently arrested last night in the centre of Arnhem, and from the police quotes it sounds ... not good:
We still don't know what exactly happened. That must be found out during the investigation. We can't make it more concrete than a suspicion of a sexual offence. Maybe there will me more information later today.
Suspicion of a sexual offence is obviously not the same thing as having actually committed it, but that's certainly not a phrase I want associated with our players. Vitesse have released a statement confirming that the Brazilian was arrested last night, saying that they're holding him out of this weekend's squad and have issued a fine (although that appears to be more to do with him being out with 48 hours of the match than the arrest itself).
Hopefully Wallace did nothing wrong and the situation resolves itself speedily. If not ... well, we'll burn that bridge when we come to it.
