MIC CHECK ONE-TWO:
I'll have you know, I've had a very enjoyable four-five days in sunny AZ. Survived without getting eaten by scorpions or bees (they were apparently over in Tempe), and didn't even get a sunburn or perish from dehydration. Managed to watch a bit of baseball, too!
Roughest part of the whole ordeal (that's fit to print) was probably the flight there, which happened right during the Chelsea match against West Ham. Not only was our flight delayed -- always concerning when you need an intense 10-minute discussion between the pilot and some mechanic to get things rolling -- the onboard WiFi was hilariously overpriced for glorified dial-up. It did manage to chug and buffer through the radio broadcast, so perhaps I shouldn't complain. WiFi in the sky: hurray technology! Meanwhile, the plane managed to chug down rather turbulently to Phoenix as well, and it didn't help that our pilot was definitely a man who does not ease into new inputs. Dial back the engines and lean into turns in record time, good job, buddy!
