Chelsea needed three points today to keep a comfortable lead atop the Premier League, and 45 minutes in, it looks as if they should be able to leave West Ham with exactly that. They lead by a goal at the break, following a very entertaining first half.
Eden Hazard opened the scoring for Chelsea, but maybe not in the way that most would have expected. He managed to get his head on a picture perfect Ramires cross, and just like that, it was 1-0 Blues (Hazard may have been offside when the cross was played, that will be a replay worth looking closely at during the break).
While theBlues had several other chances to score throughout the first 45, they were only able to find the back of the net once, and will still have to play a solid second half in order to finish this one off. That said, they're in an excellent position to do just that, especially given that Mourinho named an eleven today which can be absolutely lethal on the counter-attack.
