Lewis Baker has been busy turning heads with his performances at MK Dons, but it's not just his raw ability that's impressing. Dons manager Karl Robinson -- who helped kickstart Patrick Bamford's career when the striker was on loan at Milton Keynes too -- has hailed him for his worth ethic as well.
We're very fortunate to have him playing for us. He excited me every time I see him play. What people don't realise is he's one of the hardest working players I've ever worked with. He works so hard to make the best of his ability. He's got the ability and work ethic to reach the best of his ability.

Let's ignore the unfortunate overdose of 'ability' in that paragraph and focus on what really matters. Youth development is, of course, reliant on talent and guidance, but you have have as much of either as you like and not get anywhere without hard work and the drive to get better. That unrelenting push is what makes players great, and if Baker's displaying that on loan that's a very good sign indeed.
Hopefully he'll get his chance to turn that hard work into something at Chelsea.
