Willian tends to divide opinion, to put it kindly, in the Chelsea fanbase, thanks mostly to a relative lack of easily measurable offensive production, especially given his outsized hair transfer fee. It's an issue that even Jose Mourinho has highlighted in public before. Willian of course contributes immensely in other phases of the game -- transition, pressing, defense -- but those skills don't always seem entirely useful or necessary or critical to our success. There's certainly a reason we're also trying just about anybody we can get our hands on as a right winger.
That being said, Willian has managed to beat out all other challengers on the right side -- R.I.P. Juan Mata, Kevin De Bruyne, André Schürrle, Mohamed Salah -- so he must be doing something right! His national team head coach agrees.
"The movement and mobility of our players is key. The more they play together the more things become automatic."
"Willian is skilled. He has a lot of pace, a speed in his reasoning and he can make the difference in many games."

Willian, alongside Oscar and Neymar have played in all seven of Dunga's games in charge, and he seems to be hitching Brazil's prospects in the upcoming Copa America to the success of this trio. It's working so far, with seven wins from the seven friendlies.
Go on, Big Willi Style!
