Nathan Ake has struggled to get match time this season, despite spending much of the year working with Jose Mourinho and the Chelsea first team. On top of that, he's recently seen Ruben Loftus-Cheek seemingly pass him on the Blues' depth chart, watching the younger player make the bench while Ake watches from the stands.
The lack of paying time should change over the next month, as the club has announced that Ake will be joining Steve Clarke at Reading FC until April 22. There's seemingly a spot available for the Dutchman to step straight into the starting eleven, with fellow Chelsea loanee Nathaniel Chalobah currently dealing with injury.
Hopefully, Ake makes the most of his first spell on loan, and impresses in the Championship. Doing so shoud increase his chances of an appearance or two with the Blues before the end of the season, as hopefully Chelsea will have the title just about wrapped up by the time his loan comes to an end.
