On Tuesday, the Blues were required to submit their new squad lists for both the Premier League and Champions League, which have different roster regulations. Premier League rules limit squad size to just 25 senior players, though a club can name as many U21 players to the squad as they choose. Eight of the 25 senior roster spots are reserved for 'homegrown' players, who have spent three or more seasons playing with English or Welsh sides before they lose U21 status.
The Premier League squad includes the following, with U21 players in italics:
Petr Cech, Branislav Ivanovic, Filipe Luis, Cesc Fabregas, Ramires, Oscar, Eden Hazard, Didier Drogba, John Mikel Obi, Thibaut Courtois, Loic Remy, Diego Costa, Nemanja Matic, Willian, Juan Cuadrado, Gary Cahill, John Terry, Cesar Azpilicueta, Kurt Zouma, Nathan Ake, Andreas Christensen, Jeremie Boga, Mitchell Beeney, Dominic Solanke, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Isaiah Brown, Jamal Blackman
The Champions League is a little different, but again limits rosters to just 25 senior players on their 'A List'. Of those 25 spots, four are reserved for 'club-trained' players, while four more can only be filled by players that qualify as either club trained or 'association trained'. The club can register as many qualifying 'B List' players as they'd like. The full regulations can be found here, for those interested.
The Champions League squad is as follows:
A List: Petr Cech, Branislav Ivanovic, Filipe Luis, Cesc Fabregas, Kurt Zouma, Ramires, Oscar, Eden Hazard, Didier Drogba, John Mikel Obi, Thibaut Courtois, Loic Remy, Diego Costa, Nemanja Matic, Willian, Juan Cuadrado, Gary Cahill, John Terry, Cesar Azpilicueta, Isaiah Brown
B List: Nathan Ake, Andreas Christensen, Jeremie Boga, Mitchell Beeney, Dominic Solanke, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Jamal Blackman
No surprises then, in either squad. Hooray!
