Barnsley extend Alex Kiwomya loan

Alex Kiwomya will remain on loan at Barnsley until at least the 3rd of March. On Tuesday, Chelsea confirmed that the 18-year old had extended his deal by a month, giving him more first team football at the League One level.

Since joining the club on loan in early January, Kiwomya has made three starts for the club, and has been an unused sub on the bench on one occasion. He's yet to score in his senior career, but he's looked promising enough that I'd be surprised if it didn't happen before his spell at Barnsley is up.

It's nice to see Kiwomya earning minutes on loan, as frankly, he was probably just too good to be playing U21 football anymore. With the depth that Chelsea currently have in the academy, it's nice to see those minutes being given to players who are actually getting quite a bit out of them.
