Chelsea are set to lose a pair of attacking players before the close of the January transfer window, but despite an already small first team squad, the only player we know to be coming in is Fiorentina's Juan Cuadrado. It would make sense for the Blues to be in the market for another option, and of late, various media outlets have been mentioning West Ham's Enner Valencia quite a bit.
Valencia only joined the Hammers this past summer, but his contract reportedly includes a £20 million buyout for Champions League clubs. The versatile forward would seem to be a pretty nice fit in terms of where he can play and what he'd bring to the Blues' bench, though £20 million hardly seem like a bargain.
I'm expecting that we'll hear confirmation of the Andre Schurrle, Mohamed Salah, and Cuadrado deals in the next hour or two, but given that the Blues are still a bit short up front, I'd expect the transfer buzz to continue until the close of business. Deadline day is fun, isn't it?
