A good first impression is always nice. Chelsea and Mohamed Salah are unlikely to ever get back together, but the loanee is playing for his career in Fiorentina, and the better he does the better for everyone -- he gets playing time and an eventual move to a bigger club, and we get more money for his eventual sale.
So it's good news for Blues fans that the Egyptian winger absolutely tore up Sassuolo in his first Serie A start, scoring the opening goal and assisting the second during Fiorentina's 3-1 win. And they were both pretty nicely done as well. Let's take a peek:
A very nice finish, and a lovely backheel assist from Khouma Babacar to set him up. Salah repaid the favour two minutes later with an assist of his own:
Not too shabby -- a start like this will ensure that the Fiorentina fans take to Salah in a big way, which can only be a good thing as he looks to find his feet in Italy.
Bonus goal time: Lucas Piazon for Frankfurt.
Between those two, Bertrand Traore's stunner and Thorgan Hazard's game-winning assist for Borussia Monchengladbach, it's been a good weekend to be a Chelsea loanee. You're next, Patrick.
