Eden Hazard is rarely far from a joke, but he was in fine form on Chelsea TV yesterday. Appearing with left back Cesar Azpilicueta, who's been playing behind him regularly for over a year now, the Belgian was in extremely high spirits. Perhaps the new five-and-a-half year contract helped.
And speaking of that contract, here's Hazard admitting that the only reason he signed the deal was because he loves playing in the same side as Dave so much:
A joke, obviously. But I think it's the sort of joke that has its roots in the truth. This squad seems to genuinely get along, and as Hazard's stature grows in the game I think his prankster influence helps bring the whole team together still more. The baby horses have hatched from their eggs and are beginning to act like whatever the hell football-playing egg-horses are supposed to act like, and Hazard might just be the finest example.
