Chelsea 2-0 FC Porto, Champions League: Post-match reaction

Clive Rose/Getty Images

Winner winner Champions League knockout round qualification dinner!  Excellent performance by Chelsea until the 2-0, then dropped a bit deeper, kept it tight, and looked for the counters.  The quintessential Mourinho gameplan.

  • Feeling good.  I wore my Chelsea Christmas sweater today; the win was written in the polyester yarn.  Great game.  Lovely win.
  • Willian scores a goal from open play to settle the game!  We could've had plenty more off counters after that, too.  We even got a few flicks and tricks from our attacking players.  Joyful football!  Winning football!
  • Willian's five goals only bested by Cristiano Ronaldo in the group stages.
  • Hazard hit the post.  The goal drought goes on, 2000+ minutes now.  Unlucky.
  • Both of Chelsea's leading scorers got in on the action today, Own Goal and Willian.  Diego Costa and Eden Hazard with the assists.
  • Chelsea finish first in the group, Dynamo Kiev second (they beat Maccabi 1-0).  Porto drop into the Europa League.
  • Matic will miss the first leg of our Round of 16 match with a suspension after picking up his third yellow card.
  • Clean sheet for Courtois (a few good stops needed in the second half)!  Win for Chelsea!  Applause from the owner and all the fans.  Feeling good.
  • The draw for the Round of 16 is on Monday at 11am GMT.
  • Carefree.
