Key Chelsea target insists he's happy in Spain

We've had an umpteen number of names linked with us this season already, from John Stones to Jamie Vardy. While the extent of the actual truth behind the rumours may vary, one name that has popped up more than just a few times is that of French attacker, Antoine Griezmann.

Currently in his second season at Atletico Madrid and contracted there until 2020, the forward has been making waves in Spanish football for a few years now and is arguably yet to hit his peak. This season, he's already scored 11 goals in 19 appearances in all competitions. Very recently he was rumoured to have been made our 'number one target'.

Speaking on the television show, Canal Football Club, the 24-year-old had a few words to dampen our spirits regarding the possibility of a transfer away from Madrid in January.

"I do not feel the need to play in Ligue 1, nor in the Premier League or in the Serie A."

"I am in Spain - I'm happy. Life here, football, I like it all."

It's probably safe to say we won't have the player himself pushing for a move any time soon.

Let's just sign Jamie Vardy before Real Madrid gets him, aye?
