Chelsea striker 'back to square one' with another injury relapse

The literal injury to the insulting joke that's been Radamel Falcao's time as a Chelsea player seems to be never-ending.  Falcao has not been fit since the end of October, and while he may have been ineffective before, at least he was playing and was an option off the bench.

"We had him in a game and he had this injury again that he had before, on the inside of his thigh. He is back to square one, I think so. He's in treatment at the moment. He cannot appear on the pitch."

"He was out and our medical staff tried to build him up, and he had a setback which is not always a positive signal. We hope within 10 days he might be fit again - but not to play."

Falcao is not expected to be fit for selection until the end of January, which puts a slight kink in transfer plans to perhaps cancel his loan — Monaco apparently will only sanction an early recall if Chelsea find Falcao a new temporary assignment.  It also could affect any designs Loïc Rémy might have about heading out on loan and might even influence Patrick Bamford's second half of the season plans.

Just another annoying thing in this most annoying of all seasons.
