Rumors of Didier Drogba joining Guus Hiddink's coaching staff moved one step closer to reality on Wednesday, as Montreal officially confirmed talks with Chelsea over the legend's return to the SW6. The Impact have denied the story as long as they could, but this thing seems to be moving forward with unerring force.
We are currently in contact with Didier Drogba and Chelsea FC. We are doing everything we can to have him back with the Impact in 2016.#IMFC

We understand his attachment to his former club and his desire to help them. We are willing to accommodate him. #IMFC

But it's not without collateral damage.
But our objective is to have him back for another season, as agreed in his contract. This situation is out of our control. #IMFC

We would like to thank our supporters for their understanding and their patience. #IMFC

I sure hope we are making the right move here. Is Drogba's potential impact as a coach/assistant at Chelsea worth risking his relationship with his adoring fans in Montreal, worth risking the plans set forth by the Impact for the coming season?
Certainly if Drogba thinks so, who are we to say no? So, come on home, Didier.
