Meanwhile, there's football. Actual football, to be played by Chelsea players, wearing Chelsea shirts, in front of Chelsea fans. How will said fans receive said players after the events of the past 24 hours? That remains to be seen. It could be a fiery cauldron of emotion. Or a cold tomb of indifference. Or a cacophonous maelstrom of drama. Or ... I guess we'll find out Saturday.
But, beyond the emotions, the fact remains that Chelsea sit 16th in the league, just one point above the relegation zone and facing one of the teams in that relegation zone in Sunderland. Some might call this a relegation six pointer. All games have been must-wins over the past many weeks, but this one very truly is one.
With Mourinho and his usual entourage out, the selection dilemma will most likely fall onto the shoulders of Steve Holland. Whom he might pick is an absolute mystery. But that doesn't matter right now. What matters is which players would you pick for you starting eleven. Do you go full youth? Trot out the usual suspects? A bit of both? Decisions, decisions.
