BELGIUM:
Victorien Angban and Cristian Cuevas were absent for STVV due to injury and suspension respectively, but Joao Rodriguez was simply not selected for their clash against the Gent-lemen of Belgian football.
Cristian Manea was an unused substitute for Royal Mouscron, for the eleventy-first time this season.
ITALY:
Nathaniel Chalobah, despite his midweek sparkling, watched Napoli play out a 0-0 stalemate against Roma from the bench.
Wallace is out injured.
Juan Cuadrado, who has had a reduced role at Juventus as of late, started their 3-1 victory over Fiorentina, opening the scoring in the sixth minute and lasting the full ninety.
Here's an individual highlights video of his performance, if you care to watch.
OTHERS:
Mario Pasalic, having started AS Monaco's midweek Europa League game, sat out their 1-0 victory against AS St-Etienne. We can expect to see him back in the lineup for his side's Coupe de la Ligue game on Wednesday.
Dominic Solanke, for the third week running, was the only Chelsea loanee in Vitesse Arnhem's starting XI, as they traveled to Almelo to take on fourth-placed Heracles.
Heracles were a notch above Vitesse for most of the game and unsurprisingly took the lead. However, Vitesse brought both Izzy Brown and Lewis Baker on as soon as the goal was conceded, and they leveled the score just a few minutes later via Milot Rashica. Brown replaced Solanke, who had yet another largely anonymous outing. Brown looked sharper than his fellow loanee upon coming on, and might be in contention for a starting spot up front next weekend. After another uninspiring performance by the midfield of Sheran Yeini and Marvelous Nakamba, Baker should be back in the reckoning as well.
