Diego Costa returning to Spain well before his Chelsea contract ends is one of those rumors that keeps coming around despite repeated denials by all parties involved.
Just recently, Diego reiterated his happiness in London and his desire to stay and be awesome (again) for Chelsea. Mourinho said as much not too long ago as well. Now, here comes Atlético Madrid President Enrique Cerezo to pour further cold water on any such talk. Or cold air, as it were, through the proverbial door that Costa may have opened by saying that anything can happen in football.
"He can slam that door shut again, it's mighty cold in here."

Cerezo also said that it will be "complicated for Atlético to make signings this winter", which could be a problem for him if he decides to try to solve his team's goal-scoring troubles (sound familiar?) by dipping into the transfer market. Our friends over at Into the Calderon suggest perhaps a recall (sound familiar?) of on-loan striker Borja Baston to supplement the meager returns from Fernando Torres (sounds familiar!) and Jackson Martinez.
One thing seems certain at the moment however, Costa is staying at Chelsea.
