Oscar, Ramires pleased with performances in Chelsea's win over Porto

We've already had several matches which could have been 'turning points' to Chelsea's current season, but our last performance against Porto seemed really did look like the Blues of old. Oscar spoke about the showing following the big, big victory, and thinks the pressure on getting a good result helped the team in stepping up against Porto.

"Because everyone knew it was an important game we were very concentrated. We knew we needed to win, everybody was confident and we played better. The manager said to stay confident and show our quality. The team played very well and we won the game."

"We need to play like this in the Premier League as well, we need to win our next game, it's very important for us."

"We need to win two or three games [in a row] to keep the confidence. The win against Porto was important for everyone. It's difficult when we lose a game, for the players and José. We now need to focus on the Premier League and play like we did against Porto."

Chelsea striker Diego Costa still hasn't got back into the same goal streak that saw him become one of the most feared strikers in England, although he had some good chances to get back into the goalscoring sheets in the Porto game. But Oscar is confident that Costa will be back to his previous form given his performance in our last match.

"Diego played very well and he knows he's very important for the team. Hopefully in the next game he will play even better. He tried everything to score a goal. It's difficult for a striker when you're not scoring but the confidence is coming back, he's happy."

Ramires returned to Chelsea's line-up after recovering from a muscle injury and also had a good showing against Porto, filling in for Cesc Fàbregas as Nemanja Matic's pivot partner. The midfielder feels the team had their best performance of the season in our last game, claiming that it shows that the squad is capable of improving our current situation.

"This was our best match in the season. We got back to our strong defending and attacking with speed and directness, which is what we weren't able to do in the last games. It was a key result for us to improve our confidence and show ourselves that we have total ability of improving the club's situation overall. I was quite happy to get back to the team and I will dedicate myself to keep on doing my part in the next matches."

"Now we have to get good results in the Premier League as well. We need to make a recovery [in the league] and this change of winds should start as soon as possible."

With Ramires on his side, Matic was able to dominate the midfield not only by giving a fantastic defensive performance but also setting up good attacking chances from the back. While we certainly miss Fàbregas' quality passing with his absence, overall the team looked much better without him and hopefully José Mourinho has seen the same.
