In complete opposition to his form last season, Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been struggling to get goals this season so far, having scored only 4 in 17 matches over all competitions. His frustration is quite clear as is the manager's and the club's, who are believed to be looking for a replacement or at least someone new to help out and provide competition for Costa in the near future.
According to the Daily Mail, our search is a "global search" but a potential solution may be found pretty close to home, in loanee Patrick Bamford (LOL, no) in Tottenham striker Harry Kane . I'll give you a moment to finish laughing.
According to the report, Chelsea see Harry Kane as a great fit for the team given his goalscoring record and also the fact that's he's home-grown. Still, Chelsea would face an obvious uphill battle against Tottenham and their president Daniel Levy, to say the least. Basically, there's no chance in hell. But the Mail believe Chelsea will be making a big push to acquire Kane, most likely in the summer.
Since Luka Modric's sale to Real Madrid and Willian's gazump by Chelsea, as well as the backstage fight over Wembley, it's rather hard to envision the Blues doing any kind of business with Tottenham, even for massive amounts of money. Harry Kane may be one of the most sought-after players in England at the moment, especially since he got over his goal slump from the beginning of the season, but it's highly unlikely that he would leave a Spurs side angling for the top four. Even for unreasonable amounts of money.
(Patrick Bamford is still waiting for his chance, though.)
