Chelsea will have to pay £30 million to sign one of Europe's top goal scorers

The summer of 2013 was marked not only by José Mourinho's return to Chelsea but also by the arrival of a relatively unknown Brazilian player named Willian, for a fee many described as 'steep'. In January, history could repeat itself, as according to Simon Johnson of the London Evening Standard, Blues target Alex Teixeira, currently playing for Shakhtar Donetsk, will cost Chelsea at least £30 million.

Teixeira is currently in the spotlight due to his red-hot form in the Ukranian League, having scored 19 goals in 13 matches for his club. According to Teixeira himself, Chelsea have already made a bid for him ahead of the January transfer window; although Douglas Costa said the same last season, and eventually wound up playing for Bayern Munich instead. 'Just another Willian' is currently taking the Bundesliga by storm, and has been one of the most impressive players in Europe this season.

This time around, let's hope that Chelsea don't miss this opportunity, and close the deal for Teixeira. With Oscar hardly justifying his starting spot as a #10 and Hazard failing to pick up goals, an attacking midfielder who's also a great goal scoring threat would be a great addition to Chelsea -- or any other team, for that matter.
