Le 10 Sport don't exactly enjoy the greatest reputation when it comes to transfer gossip, especially within France, so keep that in mind when considering that they remain the number one proponent of a Chelsea bid for young Paris Saint-Germain center back Marquinhos.

The link to Marquinhos isn't anything new of course. In the summer, he was one of the minor side stories to our pursuit of John Stones, so it's not all that outrageous to think that we'd keep the PSG-man on our radar as well for a potential future bid either in January or next summer. Though we should recall that Chelsea recently hinted at not making too many waves in January, which would presumably preclude breaking the bank of any player, including one sure to cost many tens of millions. (Our rejected summer bid was supposedly €42m.)
However, the one thing that seems obvious is that we'll need some major reinforcements and changes of the squad soon, especially if our current players can't rediscover their form from just a few months ago. At just 21 and still very highly rated despite being stuck behind Thiago Silva and David Luiz in the PSG pecking order, we could certainly do worse than Marquinhos.
