Ahead of another period of international matches around the world, we also have more good news if you're on the Kenedy bandwagon as the young attacking midfielder was called-up by Dunga for Brazil's Olympic national team and trained yesterday in the U23s starting team ahead of their friendly match against Dominican Republic next Friday. Kenedy is the only representative within Brazil's squad coming from an English team as Manchester United's youngster Andreas Pereira missed last squad's listing.
Training alongside Kenedy in the U23 squad were Palmeiras' Gabriel Jesus and Internacional's Valdívia, two of the most promising attacking prospects from Brazil in recent years. The first is a fast, pacy striker who can also play as an inverted winger on the left with great finishing and dribbling skills; the latter is a speedy attacking midfielder, very incisive and with an eye for the goal.
The full Brazilian U23 squad is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Ederson (Benfica), Uilson (Atlético Mineiro);
Defenders: Maicon (Livorno), João Pedro (Palmeiras), Wendell (Bayer Leverkusen), Douglas Santos (Atlético Mineiro), Marlon (Fluminense), Lucão (São Paulo), Dória (Granada), Rodrigo Ely (Milan);
Midfielders: Lucas Silva (Olympique Marseille), Rodrigo Caio (São Paulo), Fred (Shakhtar Donetsk), Walace (Grêmio), Felipe Anderson (Lazio), Valdívia (Internacional);
Strikers: Kenedy (Chelsea), Vitinho (Internacional), Gabriel Jesus (Palmeiras), Luan (Grêmio), Gabriel (Santos), Vinícius Araújo (Cruzeiro).
