Spanish radio station Onda Cero's London correspondent is the bearer of these tidings. Take that for whatever you think it's worth. At first glance, he's not peddling outrageous information.
Just informed in @AlPrimerToque: Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out managing Liverpool (or Chelsea or any other club) this season
— Jesús López (@_JesusLopez_) October 5, 2015
After getting the boot at Real Madrid this summer, Ancelotti had said that he was planning to take a year off, get some surgery he needs for his back, and collect his remaining severance checks uninterrupted by the pressures of top flight football management. He had already rejected a return to AC Milan in June, and now, despite the possible offer of even more illustrious jobs like Liverpool or perhaps even Chelsea (in the near future), he remains committed to the plans already made. Ancelotti is nothing if not a man of principle.
While I don't think we have to worry too much about Mourinho getting the sack right now -- let's talk again after the Villa match on the 17th -- it's probably good news that Ancelotti won't be heading to Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp is the front-runner for that job, and while he may be highly regarded as some sort of nice fun guy peddling football excitement, Ancelotti is a proven winner and I'd rather not have someone with such quality and pedigree end up at one of our rivals.
