On Wednesday, Chelsea have announced that Ramires has signed a new contract with the club. The new deal will keep the midfielder at Stamford Bridge until the end of the 2018/19 season, likely with a bit of a raise.

The Brazilian has been one of Chelsea's better players this season, though given the form that most of the squad is currently in, that's not saying a whole lot. Still, he's a versatile and useful player that any manager should be able to utilize, even if he's probably not one of the Blues' strongest eleven players.

Ramires is very pleased to have signed a new deal, and had the following to say about it:

‘I am very happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea. My family and I are very happy here in London and in the past five years the club has lifted every major trophy. I hope to be an important part of many more successes in the next four years.’

Here's hoping the good displays continue now the the Brazilian has signed his new deal.
