Chelsea striker Diego Costa isn't having the best time with the Spanish national team so far. Having managed to score only once after picking up nine caps for the defending UEFA Euro champions, the Brazilian-born player was also suspended from the competition's qualification phase for a game after picking up a yellow card in a match against Macedonia last month. And according to Spain's manager Vicente Del Bosque, that's the sole reason why Costa has missed the national team's latest call-up for games against Luxembourg and Ukraine.
"[Diego Costa] can't play the first match and we preferred not to bring him.
"He is not playing badly, we will select him in the future if everything goes normally."

Despite Costa's absence, Chelsea still have three players who were named to the squad. Right back César Azpilicueta, central midfielder Cesc Fàbregas and attacking midfielder Pedro were all included in the group -- a total which which matches Real Madrid's contribution to the Spanish squad, being only behind Barcelona's provided four players included.
Spain's full squad for the October international matches is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas (Porto), David de Gea (Manchester United), Sergio Rico (Sevilla);
Defenders: Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid), Gerard Piqué (Barcelona), Marc Bartra (Barcelona), Juanfran (Atlético Madrid), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Jordi Alba (Barcelona), César Azpilicueta (Chelsea), Iñigo Martínez (Real Sociedad);
Midfielders: Sergio Busquets (Barcelona), Santi Cazorla (Arsenal), David Silva (Manchester City), Isco (Real Madrid), Cesc Fàbregas (Chelsea), Bruno Soriano (Villarreal), Thiago Alcântara (Bayern Munich), Juan Mata (Manchester United);
Forwards: Pedro (Chelsea), Paco Alcácer (Valencia), Álvaro Morata (Juventus), Nolito (Celta Vigo).
