Chelsea are in poor form of late, but they're still playing far, far better football than their opponents on Saturday afternoon. On paper, there aren't many easier fixtures this season than a woeful Aston Villa side at home, especially given the form Tim Sherwood's side is in at the moment.
Matches aren't played on paper, however, and Chelsea have been proving that time and again this season. The Blues have been making a habit of playing poorly against any Premier League competition that they've faced, with the exception of Arsenal.
Jose Mourinho has made a few major changes on Saturday, some because of injury, and some due to the poor play of key members of the squad. Here's the lineup and bench that the manager has selected for this one:
Chelsea lineup: Asmir Begovic; Baba Rahman, John Terry, Kurt Zouma, Cesar Azpilicueta; Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ramires; Wilian, Cesc Fabregas, Pedro; Diego Costa
Chelsea bench: Jamal Blackman, Gary Cahill, Nemanja Matic, John Obi Mikel, Oscar, Eden Hazard, Loic Remy
Meanwhile, Sherwood has made a few changes of his own, in hopes of avoiding a fifth straight loss:
Villa lineup: Brad Guzan, Alan Hutton, Micah Richards, Joleon Lescott, Kieran Richardson, Carles Gil, Idrissa Gana, Ashley Westwood, Jordan Ayew, Rudy Gestede, Jack Grealish
Villa bench: Mark Bunn, Leandro Bacuna, Scott Sinclair, Adama Traore, Jordan Amavi, Carlos Sanchez, Jose Angel Crespo
Hopefully the international break has been the sort of break that Chelsea's players needed to snap out of their slump, and we see a much better performance from the side on Saturday.
