Despite our first-team woes, our management still has a lot of players outside of the first team to manage. And amidst all the Mourinho v Terry imbroglio, we have got some good news about Chelsea prospects as English attacking midfielder John Swift will join Championship side Brentford on a month-long loan deal.
The 20-year old player already has an appearance for Chelsea's first-team, coming in as a last-minute sub in the team's last Premier League match against Cardiff City in the 2013/14 season. Last season, he was sent on loan to Championship club Rotterham United on a season-long deal that was cut short in November after only 4 appearances. He then went to League One's Swindon Town in the second half of the season, appearing in 10 games and scoring 2 goals in his spell.
Swift's new loan deal is only for a month, most likely to help the Bees in their most recent injury crisis but we should hope that Swift will prove to be helpful enough to earn minutes on the pitch - and to get an extension on the loan deal to boot.
