Let's for a second pretend that the previous three months worth of quotes from Petr Cech, Petr Cech's agent, and Jose Mourinho don't exist, and that Chelsea didn't just officially confirm the sale of Mark Schwarzer to Leicester City about 12 hours ago, and then maybe, just maybe there could be some merit to the latest transfer rumor floated on the virtual pages of the Mirror, the Mail, the Star, Metro -- i.e. all the usual suspects.
Roma have made a fresh approach to Petr Cech's advisers about a deal for the Chelsea goalkeeper. Jose Mourinho said the 32-year-old would not be leaving Stamford Bridge following Mark Schwarzer's departure to Leicester but Roma want to see whether a deal can be agreed now.

Gee, I wonder what our answer would be if Roma truly did approach Chelsea about a deal for our club legend. How about ... "no deal." Just a hunch. Call me crazy, but I'm guessing we wouldn't want to tackle the second half of the season with a goalkeeping trio of Thibaut Courtois, Jamal Blackman, and Mitchell Beeney.
It's possible that the genesis of these stories was a tweet from the Iberian peninsula on Monday, but especially with Schwarzer out of the picture, there is no way this would make any sense whatsoever for Chelsea.
Mourinho accepted Petr Cech departure. Negotiations with AS Roma. The deal can be done in the next days. #CFC

That being said, come next summer, sure. Feel free to run this story again. Don't forget to also mention Arsenal, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and maybe even PSG. No, it's fine; no need to thank me.
