Transfer news!  Kind of...

Chelsea Under-21 forward Alex Kiwomya will spend the next month on loan at Barnsley.

So that's pretty cool for the 18-year-old, who reunites with former Chelsea object of many head-shakes Ross Turnbull.  The loan is just for one month initially, but presumably would get extended should things go well for the boy best known for his blistering, Olympic speed.  (And his household name, thanks to his uncle Chris.)

Kiwomya has joined up with the Reds this morning, but will not be eligible to play in their FA Cup match this afternoon.  Still, the young man is quite excited.

"I'm really glad to be here. I'm really looking forward to see what's in store."

"I know a couple of the lads. I've played with Ross (Turnbull) and I know Mason (Holgate), they're a great set of lads and I'm looking forward to playing with them.

"It was number one as soon as they came in. Danny Wilson - the perfect Manager and it's the perfect time.

"I'm young, I want to express myself and show what I can do. I'm quick and I like movement and to get in behind to score goals, so hopefully it'll show."

Meanwhile, one of my personal favorite prospects John Swift, after his horror spell at Rotherham will try his luck at Swindon Town.

John Swift has today (Saturday) joined Swindon Town on loan until 31 May.

Swift made his Chelsea senior debut in the final match of last season, but so far this season has been a massive disappointment.  Hopefully things improve for him at the League One title contenders.

Good luck to both!
