It's all starting to happen as we enter the last 10 days of the January transfer window!
So far, much of our activity has been restricted to making loan moves and scouring Eastern Europe for fresh talent, so the press have amused themselves by linking us to a series of increasingly unlikely transfer targets, all culminating in the Lionel Messi Instagram rain dance. Having achieved peak transfer rumor nonsense, we can now get down to actual business. Or at least business that sounds like it might actually happen.
Douglas Costa, the first rumors appearing just a few hours ago, doesn't seem like business that might actually happen at first glance, but it would appear that there may yet be something to this.
BREAKING - Shakhtar's Douglas Costa has confirmed that he has received an offer by Chelsea according to Globoesporte: "It would be a dream."

The Globoesporte report provides further detail:
I'm five years ago and I think I've got time. It's a dream to play at Chelsea, is a unique chance. I will try to negotiate.

So that's a bit mangled, but basically the 24-year-old feels that he's put in his shift at Shakhtar (signed five years ago with Willian's former club) and he's more than happy to jump at the chance to rejoin his ex-teammate at Chelsea. But apparently Shakhtar have rejected Chelsea's initial approach (priced at £16m, according to the Daily Mail), so now Douglas has to put in some legwork on his end if he wants to (help) make the move happen. He might be our Plan C, but we seem to his Plan A.
