Nathaniel Chalobah joins Reading on loan

Chelsea have announced that midfielder/defender Nathaniel Chalobah will be remaining in England for the rest of the season.

The 20-year old spent the first half of the campaign on an unsuccessful loan spell at Burnley, but on Thursday, the youngster joined Reading FC where he'll remain for the rest of the 2014/15 campaign.

Reading have been having a bit of a rough season thus far, and currently sit 18th in the 24 team Championship table. Reaching the promotion playoff places is probably out of the question at this point of the season, but remaining comfortably above the relegation places will probably be a realistic ask. I'd imagine Chalobah will move into the Reading starting lineup in short order, and hopefully he replicates the form he showed when on loan at Watford.

Chalobah looked set for a loan to Ligue 1, before FIFA's decision that U21 matches count as 'official' Chelsea matches put an end to that. Here's hoping that everything works out for the best at Reading.
