So far so good. Chelsea are up 1-0 thanks to Emre Can being a bit of walking disaster at center back for Liverpool. Hazard won and dispatched the penalty kick with his usual aplomb.

Beyond that it's not been vintage Chelsea with a few too many poor touches and poor passes. Our pressing has been generally good however, despite going with the slightly less press-y configuration in midfield with Mikel - Fabregas instead of Fabregas - Oscar. But Liverpool are certainly there for the taking on the counter, and with a bit more luck and accuracy we should be able to make them pay.
At the other end, the defense is holding up alright, ceding space on the wing with just Sterling to aim at for Liverpool. There was an shaky moment early between Terry and Courtois, but otherwise they've been solid. Our wingers are tracking back well, too, including Hazard! Filipe Luis did collect a yellow card for Markovic clutching at his own face.
As a reminder, away goal only count in extra time in the League Cup. UP THE BLUES!
