Mourinho: Courtois injury is 'much better' but it was 'not difficult' to pick Cech instead

Petr Cech made his third straight start (and kept his third consecutive clean sheet) on Saturday, the second successive Premier League appearance giving him six starts in the last 10 for the Blues as Thibaut Courtois continues to battle a couple minor injuries.  The young star's thumb had kept him out since the New Year's Day loss at White Hart Lane.

"It is better, much better but if you have an injury in your finger - even if you are ready to play - you don't train the same way."

"During the week you protect the injury you have so I had no doubts in making the choice. I was happy with Petr's performance, he's confident and at the top of his potential."

With three cup ties and an early title showdown at the end of the month coming up next, it's a bit of a mystery as to what  Mourinho will trust which goalkeeper.  Once Courtois is fully fit and back in full training, will the status quo be restored?  Cech's had been our goalkeeper in all the domestic cup games so far, but surely he won't play all thee coming up either?
