Well, it's not exactly going to plan. Swansea City had looked the better side for a decent stretch, and made their pressure pay by forcing (yet another) midfield turnover and putting a dangerous ball across the face of goal, from which John Terry made no mistake and blasted into the back of his own net.
Chelsea started brightly and ended the first 45 the better side, but could not find the breakthrough before the half time whistle. Diego Costa, Oscar, Hazard, and Schurrle (from the free kick) have all come semi-close, but so far only Eden Hazard has displayed any sort of consistency and the appropriate levels of effort and attacking verve. Branislav Ivanovic has also looked lively on the right side, though his ultra-attacking mentality has left Routledge and Neil Taylor open quite often.
On the flip side, Nemanja Matic has been surprisingly bad, Cesc Fabregas not strong enough defensively, and John Terry's own goal was reprehensible. No need to stick your boot out there; he needs to be more aware than that.
All that said, we have another 45 minutes to set things right. COME ON CHELSEA!
AND THEN DIEGO COSTA SCORES RIGHT ON THE STROKE OF HALF TIME! GAME ON!
