Chelsea left no doubt about their intentions in today's friendly tournament in Fenerbahce by going with a strong (strongest?) lineup and getting down to business from the very start.
Oscar scored early from a wonderful Eden Hazard pass, but it was ruled out for offside. The call was marginal, but there was no doubt about the quality of the play. Yet, even better was to come a little over 10 minutes later, when Diego Costa picked up the ball about 30 yards from goal...
So it turns out he can create for himself just fine!
Turning his man easily, Diego had only one thing on his mind. He ghosted past a lazy tackle by another midfielder, then split two defenders at the edge of the area before lashing past the helpless goalkeeper into the bottom corner of the net. A wonderful run, a wonderful shot, a wonderful goal. His second of the preseason. The second of many more to come, hopefully.
