When the lineups dropped for Everton vs. Chelsea, there was one glaring absence in the visiting Blues' starting eleven. The man (well, boy) who's been playing football since the dawn of time, Oscar was nowhere to be seen.
Speculation quickly spread. Some even remembered that the transfer window closes in just a couple days and, oh my goodness, just like Loïc Remy, maybe Oscar has been kept out due to an impending transfer?
It's probably nothing that dramatic, though the news is still not the greatest.
Am told Oscar, absent from today's Chelsea squad, picked up an ankle injury in training yesterday. No further news on that.

Chelsea TV added a bit to the confusion by reporting it as a stomach flu virus, but then Jose Mourinho confirmed the ankle injury to the TV cameras as well.

If there ever is a time to pick up what I'm assuming is a small-ish injury, it's just before a two-week international break. Hopefully the young man makes a quick recovery, as he's made a decent start to the season and has shown early signs of being able to mesh well in midfield with Fabregas and Matic.
