Earlier on Friday, we heard that Chelsea were going to put Diego Costa, he of the minor hamstring strain, through his paces in light training to see if he was up to playing against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday. And the answer, apparently is yes!
ITV, citing Press Association Sport, say that he got through training without a problem and will therefore travel with Chelsea as they make the trip to Merseyside. While he's no guarantee to start, this is obviously great news considering that Fernando Torres is supposed to be in Milan getting a medical and we'd be rather light on centre forwards in Costa's absence.
I am slightly concerned about us risking him, however. Costa's shown in the past that he's happy to play when not completely fit, but he's also shown that sometimes he can make injuries much worse for himself -- just look at the Champions League final and World Cup for the most recent examples. With the international break coming up, I'd just as soon not risk him if at all possible.
It all comes down to whether or not Didier Drogba's ready to lead the line, I suspect. Time to turn back the clock?
