It was a familiar theme for Chelsea fans during the first half at Stamford Bridge, as the visitors sat deep and narrow, looked to defend, and simply looked to hit the home side on the break. Unfortunately for Chelsea fans, the results (or lack of results) of the first half were all too familiar.
As the half wore on, Chelsea began to look a bit more comfortable trying to break down the packed defense. Eden Hazard started slowly but started to look lively as the whistle approached, Diego Costa seems to be finding little pockets to sit down and receive the ball in, and Andre Schurrle has been popping up under balls at the edge of the box. The defense has also settled down nicely after a very shaky start to the game.
Chances have been few and far between though, and this looks like it might be one of those games where a bit of individual magic is required to snatch maximum points. Keep those fingers crossed...
