According to the narrative, Chelsea will never give youth a chance, especially now that Jose Mourinho is in charge at Stamford Bridge. That doesn't stop many of the best youth in the country from flocking to the academy at Cobham though, with most extending their stays once they arrive.
One of Chelsea's brightest prospects did just that today, confirming on his Instagram account that he'll be sticking around a bit longer. While the club have yet to announce the specifics of the extension, it's good news regardless of how long his new contract runs.
What Chelsea do with the player this season will be interesting to watch. He'd seem like a logical candidate to go out on loan, but depending what happens with Lewis Baker and John Swift, it's not inconceivable that he could stick around at Cobham, playing with the U21 side while providing emergency cover for the first team. Either way, it's good that he has extended.
