Christian Atsu's signing was a bit under the radar last season, but the Ghanaian winger had a sensational season for Vitesse Arnhem before impressing at this summer's World Cup. After that showing, there has reportedly been loads of interest from Premier League clubs, and Pete O'Rourke is claiming that the player is now in talks with Sunderland over a potential loan deal:
Sunderland are a fine destination as far as I'm concerned. as they'll face the best domestic competition available without being any sort of real threat to improve a direct challenger for the title. I also love to see Gus Poyet succeed, and having the talented Atsu at his disposal should help immensely in that regard.
Assuming this report is correct, I'd assume we'll hear an announcement confirming this move soon, which would allow Atsu plenty of time to acclimate to his new club and manager. That would be swell.
