Didier Drogba wants to make more history with Chelsea

After capping off the biggest night in the club's history with (at the time) his last kick of the ball for Chelsea, the striker wants to make more wonderful memories with the Blues

Didier Drogba returned to Chelsea on Friday, and both the player and the manager had a few comments about the move for the club's official website. Drogba started things off by explaining why he chose to return after adventures in China and Turkey over the past few seasons:

‘It was an easy decision - I couldn't turn down the opportunity to work with Jose again. Everyone knows the special relationship I have with this club and it has always felt like home to me. My desire to win is still the same and I look forward to the opportunity to help this team. I am excited for this next chapter of my career.’

He also had this to say via Twitter:

Seeing Drogba back in blue, even if it's only in a part time role, will be a welcome sight indeed. The fans aren't the only ones excited by the reunion though, as manager Jose Mourinho had the following to add on Drogba's return:

‘He’s coming because he’s one of the best strikers in Europe. I know his personality very well and I know if he comes back he’s not protected by history or what he’s done for this club previously. He is coming with the mentality to make more history.’

I'm sure this will be just the first of many comments on Drogba's return to Chelsea, so stay tuned...
