We knew something was going down with Lucas Piazon, and now we have confirmation: he's heading to Eintracht Frankful on a season-long loan deal:

Piazon becomes Chelsea's third Bundesliga loanee of the summer after Tomas Kalas (Koln) and Thorgan Hazard (Borussia Monchengladbach). After Kevin de Bruyne's success at Werder Bremen in the 2012/13 season, it's not difficult to see why German sides would be so interested in picking up our prospects when they're available, which is great -- it's a solid, fast-paced league and will be a serious testing ground for our players.
For Piazon, a strong season should erase the bad feeling from the end of his season with Vitesse, but it's a big step up for him and he'll need to work very hard to make the most of his opportunity. I don't know much about how Frankfurt's squad looks now, but I assume that both clubs have done their homework and that Piazon will have every opportunity to actually play.
