Kenneth Omeruo confirms he'll be re-joining Middlesbrough

Stu Forster

The loan news is coming thick and fast now. The latest to be all but official involves Kenneth Omeruo and Middlesbrough -- the young centre back has claimed via his Instagram and Twitter accounts that he'll be rejoining the Championship club for next season.

This move makes a great deal of sense. Omeruo had a successful spell at Boro last season, is virtually guaranteed playing time, and his World Cup experience with Nigeria will only make him even more attractive for the team, who will be hoping that they can make a push for promotion next year.

With Tomas Kalas already on loan to Koln and Omeruo leaving for another season, it looks as though Chelsea will with bring in in another centre back or keep Kurt Zouma around as backup. My guess is that we're all but set in defence -- Branislav Ivanovic and Zouma spelling the first-choice pairing is a strong enough group to see us through the year.
