Earlier on Wednesday, Chelsea and Atlético Madrid both announced that a transfer fee had been agreed for Filipe Luis. Obviously there are more than a few steps between that and the signing actually being completed -- the Brazilian has to pass a medical and agree personal terms with Chelsea, but it sounds like there shouldn't be too long to wait:
Han sido unos años inolvidables. Gracias por apoyarme siempre atléticos, GRACIAS DE CORAZÓN. A las 16.30 me despido en una rueda de prensa.
— Filipe Luís (@FilipeLuis03) July 16, 2014
Google translate says that that's something like "It's been a memorable year. Thanks for supporting me always Atlético, YOU HEART. At 1630 I leave in a press conference." Which I like mostly because of YOU HEART, which is how I'm going to imagine Filipe Luis addresses anything he likes.
Anyway, the above tweet implies that personal terms won't be too much of an issue, and that we should look for an announcement that the deal's complete within a few hours. I'd expect Filipe Luis to sign for relatively reasonable wages and a four-year contract, but we'll have to wait and see.
