Son of Hilario(?): Germany vs. Argentina, Second Half

Martin Rose

It's been a fairly open and exciting match, despite the occasion and all the tension.

Germany's probably had more of the play, but Argentina are a genuine threat on the counter.  Gonzalo Higuain had the ball in the back of the net, but was well offside on the cross.  The Napoli man missed another glorious chance when Kroos gifted him a backpass.

At the other end, Muller has been a constant danger.  And Germany have hit the post right at the end of the half.  And, most importantly, André Schürrle is already on in a rather aggressive substitution from Jogi Low following Christoph Kramer's concussion.  Kramer himself was only playing because Khedira picked up an injury in the warmups.

All to play for in the second half.  It's going to be a cracker.

Talk amongst yourself.
