The Daily Hilario: Netherlands vs. Mexico; Costa Rica vs. Greece

Your daily dose of off-topic shenanigans.

Laurence Griffiths

Yesterday's round of 16 was an all-South American affair, with, unsurprisingly, South America winning two and South American losing two.  Today, we get two UEFA vs. CONCACAF matchups.  The FIFA rankings say that UEFA should be easy winners here.  But this is the 2014 World Cup and while yesterday played out according to the odds, today may just see a return to unpredictability.

Can Wet/Dry/Hot Herrera inspire Mexico?  Can Costa Rica continue to defy all expectations?  Can Greece actually play some football?  Can the Netherlands walk this quarter of the World Cup bracket into an easy semifinal berth?  We're about to find out.

Go and get 'em, Super Saiyan Herrera!
